What is the Circular Economy?
The circular economy is the successor to the traditional linear economy. In this new economy, products are designed to last as long as possible, be easily repaired and eventually converted into valuable raw materials.
At the CFA Foundation, we apply these principles to safety footwear, with a focus on collecting, dismantling and reusing materials to promote a more sustainable footwear industry.

History:
EMMA Safety Footwear and Allshoes Safety Footwear, pioneers in sustainable footwear production, decided to work together in 2020, their common goal was clear: to change the traditional approach to safety footwear production and initiate a circular revolution.
The Circular Footwear Alliance (CFA) was born.
The collaboration between different brand owners has allowed the CFA to grow tremendously. What began as a vision of a few pioneers has now become a powerful foundation.
Why a foundation?
At the core of the Circular Footwear Alliance is the sharing of knowledge and resources. A foundation provides a practical framework for this collaboration, where members come together with a common goal. Joining new members is easy, which is exactly what we want. Now we explicitly invite other safety footwear manufacturers and supporters, who want to walk the circular path, to join this initiative.
